Slovenian endurance swimmer Martin Strel is called many things as he swims the length of the Amazon River (!), thrashing against his personal demons.

Manipulative and (possibly, in places) staged, John Maringouin’s riveting doc nonetheless contains splashes of beauty, foreboding and insight, its Herzogian hero emerging as… Well, eco-warrior, Christ figure, superhero, Fish Man.
