Black Knight

1

Time travel yarn A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court was never a classic, so why remake it? Especially when Bing Crosby's crooning is replaced by Martin Lawrence's smart-arse homeboy antics. Lawrence is Jamal, slacker employee of a Medieval World theme park who falls into a moat and is transported back to 14th century England (don't ask how - logic is not exactly a strong point here). Chaos ensues before our knight in whining armour rescues the kingdom and the obligatory girl, with a little help from slumming Full Monty star Tom Wilkinson. Those who know Lawrence from his stand-up comedy will be sorely disappointed by this disaster flick, a string of lame pratfalls peppered with cringeworthy gags. Those who know him from Big Momma's House, however, will know exactly what to expect. See it at your peril.
