Bloodsport

3

Back in '88, Belgian nobody Jean-Claude Van Damme made a name for himself with this vicious little B-movie about a secret, full-contact, martial-arts tournament. Within weeks of hitting the video shelves, it was a cult success with teenage boys, wannabe streetfighters and trash movie fans.

Featuring more testicle-trouncing scraps than a Millwall pub-crawl, this is a no-holds-barred, no-apologies-made chopsocky flick. And as such, it still stands up, the professionally choreographed fight scenes surviving the test of time. The same can't be said for Van Damme's limited acting - his talent has always been in the fisting, not the thesping.
