Gibson's Christ, James Caviezel, plays '20s golfing hero Bobby Jones in this religiously reverential biopic. A sentimental, sun-dappled heritage aura stifles the 'action', Jones is drearily decent and director Rowdy Herrington can't achieve the near-impossible and make golf exciting. Four deleted scenes were cut to speed the film up, apparently. You could've fooled us.
