Based on the true story of Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic, Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winner stars Tom Cruise as the old soldier, following his life from a battle-hungry teen to a bitter, post-war cripple. Stone’s direction is impeccable, clearly deserving of the gong it received.

Production notes, theatrical trailer, cast and film-maker's notes. As per usual, it's a shame that the extras here are so few. However, what is here is definitely worth having: the production details are incisive and reasonably lengthy, and the cast and film-maker's notes are a little more padded out than the usual fare. But, if you are a fan of this flick, this is certainly a disc to grab, purely for the beautifully clear picture and a fantastically crisp recording of John Williams' score.
