Long-forgotten luminaries of '50s Cuban big band music are fetched from retirement and/or obscurity by American rocker Ry Cooder to record an album in Havana. A mix of reminiscences, recording sessions and footage from ecstatically received concerts in Amsterdam and New York City, Teutonic helmer Wim Wenders' documentary is stirring, emotive stuff.
