Having established himself as the strong, silent and ultra-violent type, Jason Statham gets the chance to let his mouth rather than his fists do the talking in Tony Gigilo’s thriller. But as a suspended Seattle hostage negotiator pressed back into service to tackle bank robber Wesley Snipes, Statham is saddled with stilted dialogue, weakly staged action, a stale, twisty script and an ending with a dodgy sense of morality that remains puzzling at best. Maybe writer/director Gigilo could clarify, but his chat-track was unavailable at press time.
