One of the most original sci-fi movies to emerge in 1997, Cube was a disturbing future shocker, trapping six strangers in a giant booby-trapped cube and watching them scrabble to find a way out. Cube 2: Hypercube continues the tradition, only this time the killer maze is four-dimensional, snaring a new batch of characters in time as well as space. Not as fiendish as the original but, as straight-to-DVD sequels go, it's surprisingly good. Cheeky ending, too.
