Cube 2: Hypercube

3

One of the most original sci-fi movies to emerge in 1997, Cube was a disturbing future shocker, trapping six strangers in a giant booby-trapped cube and watching them scrabble to find a way out. Cube 2: Hypercube continues the tradition, only this time the killer maze is four-dimensional, snaring a new batch of characters in time as well as space. Not as fiendish as the original but, as straight-to-DVD sequels go, it's surprisingly good. Cheeky ending, too.

Takes the concept of the original and makes it unnecessarily complex. Also, the ending just leaves less to the imagination, and suffers for it.
