Darkman

3

Sam Raimi conceives and directs (like a fertile traffic policeman) his own comic-book style fantasy, about a scientist, Dr Peyton Westlake (Liam Neeson), whose face and hands are hideously disfigured by some nasty men. But, by an amazing stroke of luck, he happens to have been working on a method for generating new skin. Donning the faces of anyone he chooses, Peyton sets out to avenge his attack, in a gloriously silly and gross action/horror.

DVD Extras:

Theatrical trailer, filmographies, production notes. Both the film and the disc include every cliché imaginable. Unless it's a remarkable subtle satire on crap DVD's, Darkman is so run-of-the-mill that the Mill Running Society rejected it on the grounds that they were "sure we've seen it somewhere before". But if you're a Raimi fan, you can add a bonus star to both marks.
