Dead Silence

2

Dolls are creepy. The creators of Saw attempt to ring a few scares from that old chestnut with their hoary horror throwback, complete with small-town legend and a murderous ventriloquist’s dummy who’s never where you left him. Dead Silence owes as much to episodes of Buffy as it does to Dead Of Night, but if you can cope with its silliness, the gruesome FX and lean pacing make this dumb fun for a night in with a gottle of geer. Mind you, the mediocre extras, absence of commentary, and sense we’ve seen this all before means it’s not more than a rental.

DVD Extras: Deleted Scenes, Alternative Opening/Ending, The Making Of Dead Silence, Evolution Of A VFX, Mary Shaw's Secrets.
