Women swooned in their millions for Emile Ardolino's crotch-thrusting hit and it's still a feelgood winner. Jennifer Grey's 17-year-old "Baby" meets Patrick Swayze's older, dirtier dance teacher and he tutors her in more than just the Bossa Nova. Clunky dialogue hampers the mumbly Swayze but he and Grey give sympathetic performances, the music's a cracker and the dance sequences look great.

Producer's commentary, trailer, filmographies, Learn To Dirty Dance. It's difficult not to enjoy, despite wooden acting and dodgy dialogue, especially as the transfer's great and the exterior shots look beautiful. Writer/Producer Eleanor Bergstein's commentary is breathless and grating, but the animated dance step feature that teaches you how to thrust like Swayze is highly amusing. Do try this at home, kids.
