The year: 2010. The back-of-a-postage-stamp plot: a supercop (Cyril Raffaelli) and a wrongfully nicked con (David Belle) must stop a ‘clean bomb’ from liquifying a Paris slum. The bloke responsible for this tosh: Luc Besson. Producing and penning, he yokes his John Carpenter obsessions to an 85-minute, techno-scored demonstration of Le Parkour, the art of urban steeplechase that’s handy for eluding drug goons. It’s as mainstream-friendly as Euro-actioners come, hence the inclusion of an English dub that hilariously turns Parkour pioneer Belle into a top-o’-the-marnin’ Irishman.
