These days, every thriller worth its salt has to have some sort of twist. But with so many doing the rounds, it would appear that all the best plot screws have been used. Which might explain why, despite being effectively made, Don't Say A Word simply feels tired.
Double cross during a heist? Kidnap drama? Blackmail? Disturbed girl with the key to the crime? Director Gary Fleder tries to jazz it up by borrowing various suspense techniques from Hitchcock, but ends up cranking out a workmanlike effort.
