Hammer’s twist on Robert louis Stevenson’s story may not offer much insight into what it’s like to change sex, but it’s a fun trip to foggy old Whitechapel where Jack the Ripper and graverobbers Burke and Hare lurk, along with cockney prostitutes who squawk “’Ello darling!” Silly but imaginative fare.
