Bond reboot specialist Martin Campbell has a crack at updating his own 1985 TV series about a cop investigating his daughter’s murder.
Don’t expect too much of the original’s complexity and surreal edge, but do expect guilty-pleasure payback as Mel Gibson returns to acting for the first time since Signs – older, crinklier but still deadly intense.
Sturdy support from Ray Winstone acts as a cool counterbalance to Gibbo’s rage.
