“It was a superb marriage,” states producer Antony Root in the short but fulfilling Making Of, remarking on the inspired match-up of Christopher Marlowe’s material and Derek Jarman’s artistic and political flair. The director shrugged off budget cuts and embraced the sparse sets and splendid lighting to create a work of art.
