Eerie Indiana: The Complete Series

4

Daft but fun. Three words which deftly sum up Eerie, Indiana, a kids’ show which, thanks to its confident scripting and kooky premise, works just as well for grumpy ol’ adults, too. Set in the eponymous town, the series focuses on the attempts of teenager Marshall Teller (Omri Katz) to convince people that strange things are afoot. Together with his best friend Simon (Justin Shenkarow) they set out to gather evidence of the craziness – like the woman who keeps her twin sons imprisoned in giant Tupperware containers. Or the school nurse who brainwashes kids and turns them into zombies. Or the revelation that Marshall is actually the star of his own TV show...

A proto-Malcolm In The Middle (right down to the voiceover and sly nods to the audience), Eerie, Indiana is worth revisiting.

BEST BIT Any scene containing Dash X (Jason Marsden), a mysterious boy who knows more than he’s telling about the town of Eerie.
