El Mariachi/Desperado (tbc)

El Mariachi finds its guitar-toting hero mistaken for someone all together much deadlier, resulting in some low-budget but highly inventive spaghetti Western-style gunplay. Meanwhile, Desperado is essentially the same story with a bigger budget plus Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Hong Kong-esque action.

DVD Extras:

Filmographies, trailers, 10-minute film school documentaries, director's commentaries, Bedhead film short, music videos. With two fine movies on one disc you can't go wrong. Throw in all the extras and this becomes an action fan's dream. The Bedhead short dates from 1990 and features the Rodriguez clan helping out the budding family film-maker, while the documentaries and commentaries offer glimpses of Rodriguez's methods.
