Everybody Has A Plan

Viggo Mortensen doubles down

A drama in which Viggo Mortensen plays twins, then throttles himself in a bathtub? No, this isn’t Viggo’s latest team up with Cronenberg, rather an Argentinean drama that’s as unhurried as a snail in treacle.

When mopey Agustín (Mortensen, speaking near perfect Spanish) murders his brother Pedro, he escapes his life by assuming his identity – only to find that he’s not got it any better.

Littered with less-than-subtle ironies, Ana Piterbarg’s feature debut often feels as aimless as her lead character, but Mortensen’s dual performance restores some of the nuance.
