Not so much a sequel, as a remake of the original, this second attempt by Raimi to mock the horror genre really hits the mark. Where the first was dark and unpleasant, part two is gut-hurtingly funny. Bruce Campbell is perfect as the square-jawed hero, unfazed by the sudden appearance of a host of demons and zombies around him. With both the hand-possession scene and the most ludicrous ending of all time, this is one of those must-have horrors. However... 

DVD Extras:

Film facts and information - with all that space and such a top-drawer film, you'd think even the most unimaginative executive would have thrown something in there. A commentary from Raimi would've been enough to satiate any fan's thirst but, alas, there is none. Worst of all, the picture and sound quality are totally unremarkable, making this almost pointless to purchase on disc. A shocking waste of a beer mat.
