Killer opening credits kick off this silly-yet-thrilling fifth entry in the fright franchise that won’t die. Making bloody good use of 3D, FD5 opens strong and hits a gory high note with its destructo suspension-bridge set-piece.
Other than that, it’s business as usual as pretty young things get speared, roasted and splattered – though a fun new twist to the rules means that would-be victims can survive if they kill one of their comrades instead. Kudos also for the dovetail climax, which hints that this might be the final Destination.
Extras include a spoilerific four-minute Making Of and alt-death scenes.
