No prizes for guessing what this one’s about, though the swish CGI sequences of London landmarks getting deluged aren’t half as wet as the sudsy narrative that’s built around them. Doesn’t Robert Carlyle’s Thames Barrier engineer have enough to contend with without ex Jessalyn Gilsig and estranged dad Tom Courtenay getting in the way? Ah, but if he didn’t, Tony Mitchell’s flick would struggle to equal the human interest/wanton destruction quota set by all those expensive apocalyptic blockbusters.

Talking heads with the stars complete a soggy package.
