Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson try romancing the stone in a tedious caper with a plot even skimpier than their respective beach outfits. He’s a gormless fortune hunter who sinks his boat within the first five minutes (talk about a metaphor!), while she’s the walk-away wife sucked into his latest scheme to locate lost Spanish bullion. Unpleasantly violent when it’s not ass-numbingly boring, Andy Tennant’s film at least has a starry supporting cast (Ray Winstone, Donald Sutherland). Shame they’re all saddled with one-dimensional characters…
