Gabriel&Me

3

Coming from the writer of Billy Elliot, Gabriel&Me spins a similar story - - lad grows up in depressed town, father doesn't understand him, kids bully him.

Swap ballet for biblical characters and you have the central premise - Jimmy Spud dreams of being an angel so he can sort out his life's problems. He's approached by the Angel Gabriel (a stilted Billy Connolly) who offers to guide him. This gently funny comedy failed to make an impression at the cinema - - it's neither memorable nor particularly bad, just average.
