Springing from the fertile mind of Saturday Night Live alumnus Dan Aykroyd, this 15-year-old comedy still has much to recommend it. There's a comically bitter performance from Bill Murray, laughs by the bucketload and some smashing visuals.
DVD Extras:
Where to begin? Commentary, storyboards (with a nifty split-screen comparison option), five deleted scenes, special-effects feature, behind-the-scenes feature and production notes, all packaged in a groundbreaking 3D-animated menu.Columbia, thou art still the king of DVD extras. Fans of Ghostbusters rejoice, for this is the holy grail. The extras are, quite simply, astounding, especially the interactive storyboards which provide a step-by-step guide to how the effects were developed. Then there's the special-effects feature itself, which allows you to play with the rarely used multi-angle option - this should keep even non-fans enthralled for days. What more could you ask for - - blood?
