When this fat turkey of a movie waddled out of the woods last year, it was a carve-up: critics took their knives to Martin Brest's clunky Mob-com with gusto. But is it really that bad?

Sadly, yes. The story's as slack as Michelle Pop Idol's knicker elastic and just as flabby: low-watt Mafia man Gigli (Ben Affleck) is charged with kidnapping a brain-damaged lad (Justin Bartha). `Fixer' Ricki (Jennifer Lopez) moves in to help him out. And, erm, that's it. Christopher Walken and Al Pacino mug in meaningless cameos, J-Lo gets to talk about her `ver-gi-nurrr' while parading her fine figure in yoga shorts and Affleck tries hard not to look like a Ken doll.

Of 'em all, Bartha comes off best, garnering sympathy and smiles as the Baywatch-obsessed hostage - but Brest squanders any goodwill by making us watch a Bennifer sex scene shot through a Mills&Boon filter. Pass the sick bag...
