Three stories blend seamlessly into one another for this fast, funny and fresh look at life in the LA club scene. You'll spend half of the time chuckling at the comedy and the rest pondering what the movie (or its characters) will throw up next. What's not to like about a film that mixes a talking cat, a scary Christmas dinner with LA's weirdest cop and a former Grange Hill actor?
DVD Extras:
Director's commentary track, featurette, music videos, deleted scenes, animated menu. With all the goodies on this disc, it's a wonder they had room for the film itself. Thankfully, the print is all present and correct in Widescreen, while the stereo sound is used to full, pumped-up effect. The deleted clips show what might have been in some of the scenes, but the featurette is less useful: more just a collection of talking head interviews with the stars and director. Doug Liman's commentary track (with editor Stephen Mirrione) stands out as both funny and insightful, revealing such film-making tribulations as having to re-paint an entire supermarket.
