Viggo Mortensen becomes a reluctant member of the SS in wartime Germany

Viggo Mortensen generates angst and ambivalence rather than action in this flabby but well-crafted drama about a professor suckered into becoming a Nazi figurehead.

Meanwhile, Jason Isaacs strikes sparks as his Jewish best friend – and chats smartly in the cast interview snippets.
