After the success of Gremlins, Joe Dante got free reign to go Looney Tunes for the sequel, which sees the little green bastards infest Clamp Towers – a stab at the Trump corporate culture – while our heroes Billy (Zach Galligan) and Kate (Pheobe Cates) try to stop them breaking out into New York. Matching the original gag for gag – in both senses of the word – if not quite in the malice department, once the movie eventually kicks into gear it’s a relentless string of gungey set-pieces.

Headed up by a Dante commentary, the fun extras package is a welcome addition given the shouty vanilla release previously on shelves.
