A jaded weatherman (Bill Murray) finds himself trapped in a horribly twee, Capra-esque town, living the same hellish day over and over again... Boasting Murray at his snide, cynical best, Groundhog Day tackles existential issues in an accessible, riproaringly entertaining fashion. Not even Andie MacDowell can stop this being one of the '90s finest comedies.
DVD Extras:
Commentary by director Harold Ramis; Making Of documentary, trailers, cast and crew bios. While this second DVD release of Groundhog Day is certainly an improvement on the last disc, it still ain't great. Ramis' commentary is sparse and somewhat dry, and too often repeats information found on the documentary. Disappointing.
