DVD Extras:
Making Of documentary, trailers, radio and TV spots, biogs, trivia, stills and promo material. With no commentary, a merely adequate half hour Making Of and few other extras to justify the premium price tag the main selling point of this double disc set is the 11 minutes of additional footage shot specially for the re-edited US TV version. To fill the two hour slot Carpenter added several key scenes in the asylum with Dr Loomis (Donald Pleasance), and some obvious padding that sets up the relationship between Jamie Lee Curtis and her friends. Whichever version you opt for, Halloween still rates second only to Psycho in the hack `n' slash stakes.
