Adam Sandler's second film, before he hit paydirt with The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy, sees him portray Happy Gilmore, a would-be hockey player who turns pro golfer to save his Grandma's house from repossession. The story centres on how Happy rattles the game of golf with his `crazy' antics, that is, swearing at and punching spectators and, er, wearing a hockey shirt.
DVD Extras:
Production notes, theatrical trailer, cast and film-makers notes. There are some genuine laughs but the script soon loses its charm: - laughing at amputees just isn't daring or cheekily non-PC. It's pathetic, crude and offensive. The production notes are merely a short skip through the plot with the cast simpering: "We all love each other". Not a great comedy, not an interesting disc... Why bother releasing this?
