Hawk The Slayer

2

It may be much loved by ’80s nostalgists and fantasy B-movies aficionados, but those rose-tinted glasses can’t disguise the fact that Hawk The Slayer is cheap tosh. Still, there’s a compulsive terribleness about the SFX – a rapidly firing bow and arrow is simply the same footage run back and forth – and watching Jack Palance assaulting his co-stars with his ham-acting. You’d be better off just waiting for the next time it turns up on late-night TV when you’ll be drunk enough to enjoy it.
