I Spit On Your Grave: Special Edition

2

Banned by censors, bashed by critics, reviled by feminists... The legacy of I Spit On Your Grave can be summed up in one word: controversy. Expect more of the same now this Special Edition restores almost 50 percent of the cut footage.

First unleashed in 1978, this grubby rape-revenge flick sees a New York writer (Camille Keaton) go vacationing in Hicksville only to be repeatedly gang-raped by rednecks. Cue bloody retribution. Professionally made but morally dubious, this is exploitative trash masquerading as anti-rape tract. Handle with care.

DVD Extras:

""Did I create this?"" asks helmer Meir Zarchi on the natter-track. The soul-searching commentary's supported by inappropriate banter from redneck genre-buff Joe Bob Briggs and excellent coverage of the mid-'80s video nasty hysteria.
