Zanussi's guide to life

Polish director Krztsztof Zanussi’s third feature and his most experimental crosses narrative cinema with filmed essay in an exploration of truth, knowledge and the elusive nature of happiness.

Stanisław Latałło (who died in a climbing accident soon afterwards) plays a physics student searching for the answer to everything.

En route he falls in love twice, marries and fathers a child, while Zanussi keeps things busy with diagrams, quotes and academic talking heads.

Extras include a recent interview with Zanussi and a short about Latałło directed by his son.
