It's A Wonderful Life

5

Frank Capra’s soft-centred, feelgood fantasy is a masterly crafted piece of Hollywood hokum with the power to melt the coldest of hearts. James Stewart gives a flawless, performance as the small town idealist who sacrifices his happiness for his friends and family and is in turn saved by his impish guardian angel.

DVD Extras:

Making Of featurette, additional interviews. The chocolate box setting and cinematography are now given a brand new lustre by a digitally remastered print, while a chummy commemorative documentary and personal introduction by Frank Capra Jr are attractive bonuses. For all its sticky sentimentality, It's A Wonderful Life remains one of the most perennially popular films and is presented here in what must surely qualify as the definitive edition.
