If you can ignore the fact that they forget to include a proper ending, Jurassic Park 3 is an easily rewatchable blockbuster, courtesy of a couple of very strong setpieces. The cutting out of both the educational slant of the first and the excesses of the second makes for a leaner, if less surprising, dino threequel.
DVD Extras:
Commentary with effects team, tour of Stan Winston's studio, New Dinosaurs of JP3, Finding New Dinosaurs, Making Of and behind the scenes featurettes, visit to ILM, 3-D dino models, storyboards, trailers, JP3 archives. There's nothing particularly exciting about the extras (a standard flashy display of technical triumphs). In keeping with the style of the movie, they're breezy and easily digestible, epitomised by the glossy but shallow Making Of doc. Bonus points for including a DTS track for audiophiles though.
