Kate&Leopold

3

Yes, it's another Meg Ryan rom-com, and yes, the time-travel, fish-out-of-water premise is twaddle, but Kate&Leopold is watchable enough.

X-Men's Hugh Jackman plays an 18th-century duke who finds himself in modern-day New York, where his charms melt Ryan's self-centred, stressed-out career woman. Their chemistry is the main attraction here, but there's strong support from Breckin Meyer and the ever-dependable Liev Schreiber.

DVD Extras:

A decent amount of material including an eloquent commentary from director/co-writer James Mangold. An additional Director's Cut contains unnecessary extra padding, so it's no surprise that the deleted scenes aren't up to much. The same can be said of the on-set featurette - - and anyone who even wants to take a look at the Sting video should be shot.
