Kind Hearts And Coronets

4

One of the most enduring comedies from the Ealing movie-barn, Kind Hearts And Coronets sees Dennis Price attempting to bump off the eight D'Ascoyne family members - - all eight played by the late, very great Alec Guinness - - who stand between him and a big fat inheritance. A near-perfect, cross-generational laugh-in, it's a reminder that, once upon a time, British cinema could match anything that came out of Hollywood.

DVD Extras:

Theatrical trailer, selected poster art, cast filmographies. Suppose it was too much to expect the disc to provide features as wickedly wonderful as the film itself - although the relatively low price tag makes that forgivable. You get the usual fare, and the disc is a little disappointing for it, but any feature would be hard-pressed to steal your attention away from Guinness' performances, which are worth seeing on any format.
