After decoding a 50-year-old prophecy – in about 50 seconds – Nic Cage’s constipated academic has CG planes, trains and automobiles thrown at him as he tries to prevent disaster in Alex Proyas’ (Dark City) drippy Doomsday thriller.
The cheesily intriguing concept is soon script-doctored into submission and the twist ending is dumber than discovering – phew – it was all a dream.
Extras range from dull commentary to patronising doc.
