Lake Mungo

Another creepy thriller from the land down under...

Lake Mungo review

When 16-year-old Alice (Talia Zucker) drowns in the lake, her family are haunted by spooky apparitions in dreams, photos and home videos.

But is it Alice’s unquiet spirit or her grieving loved ones that can’t let go?

Using the fake documentary format to vivid effect, writer/director/definite one-to-watch Joel Anderson’s debut burns slow but is beautifully composed, insistently creepy and surprisingly moving, particularly when patriarch David Pledger admits he leaves the porch light on in case Alice ever comes home.
