Lara Croft Tomb Raider

3

Simon West's slick adaptation of the video game presses most of the right buttons. A confused plot and Iain Glen's anaemic villain are compensated for by Angelina Jolie's bouncy heroine. With an immaculate English accent and shedfuls of sex appeal, she's perfect as the aristocratic archaeologist.

DVD Extras:

Digging Into Tomb Raider documentary, Crafting Lara Croft, The Stunts Of Tomb Raider, Are You Game? featurettes, visual effects vignettes, commentary by director Simon West, four deleted scenes, alternative titles, U2 video, DVD-Rom features.Despite beautiful design and polished production featurettes, the DVD is competent rather than enthralling. Digging Into Tomb Raider is a decent publicity reel, but Are You Game? just rehashes old guff about Lara's cultural significance. The deleted scenes are forgettable and West's commentary is heroically dull.
