Bizarrely after the dark sci-fi broodings of Alien and Blade Runner, Ridley Scott decided to make this sloppy fairytale. With Tom Cruise's most forgettable performance (as vacant forest boy Jack), lashings of latex beasties and Tim Curry as big-horned baddie Darkness, it's little more than an old-school Flake ad with monsters.
DVD Extras:
Trailer. Legend was given a Collector's Edition workover in the States, which included a `Director's Cut' (the version here, but with the original Jerry Goldsmith score), the US theatrical cut (complete with Tangerine Dream's synth noodlings) and a Making Of. So there's no excuse for this disc being such a waste of aluminium.
