Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior)

4

The fastest and funniest of George Miller's post-apocalyptic trilogy, an action-packed cartoon of a movie in which Mel Gibson's disgruntled hero goes head to head with a bunch of car warriors led by The Humungus. More outrageous than the first film and less silly than the third, it's notable for the madcap humour and violent scenes - - like the one where a goon's fingers are severed by a steel boomerang.

DVD Extras:

None. Fans of this cult classic who've had to make do with a VHS copy will be thrilled by the superb digital widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital soundtrack. It's a threadbare disc though, with no Making Of material, no biographies and - - despite what it says on the sleeve - - no production notes either.
