FBI agent Will Graham (William Petersen) has the gift of getting into the psyches of psychos in order to guess their next move, but it drives him nuts. Trying to catch a man who kills whole families every full moon, Graham plays a dangerous game by getting help from the FBI's most famous captive - - one Dr Hannibal Lecktor (Brian Cox).
DVD Extras:
Interview with DoP Dante Spinotti, cast interviews, stills, trailer. A compulsively rewatchable chiller, Michael Mann's Miami Vice-styled vision isn't just the first Hannibal movie, it's also arguably the best one: Brian Cox's calculating genius in a cage is far more chilling than Anthony Hopkins' campy villain in a dungeon. Although the interviews don't make up for the desperately anticipated but absent Mann commentary, the global poster gallery almost does. A naked woman garishly covered in blood? That'll be how they sensitively sold the movie in Italy, then.
