The high-school halls are a jungle, ruled by the ultra-popular `plastics': those perfect girls who are perfectly horrible to everyone else.
Trying to avoid being eaten alive is Cady (a sparkly Lindsay Lohan). Smart and pretty but previously home-schooled, she's new meat to be mauled by bitch-queen Regina (the fiercely funny Rachel McAdams). But when arty goth Janis (Lizzy Caplan) encourages her to infiltrate the catty clique and destroy it from the inside, Cady's evolution takes a nasty turn as she embraces the ethos of survival of the fittest (and cutest and best-dressed).
Based on Rosalind Wiseman's seminal book on cruel school behaviour (Queen Bees&Wannabes), Mean Girls is a masterclass in being a bitch... With a `be nice' message tacked on the end. Ignore that. Being mean is so much more fun.
