Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day

2

A woman on a mission to find love in a day

And what a day it is. Duping her way into a post as social secretary to dippy Delysia (Amy Adams), Mary-Poppinsin- rags Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand) takes on men and malady amid the rumour of war.

This period tickler is all about the performances – McDormand is as perpendicular as Adams is delightfully flighty. Sadly its flirty charm belies a standard romcom skeleton that tips its second half into predictability. Sole notable extra is a 20-minute Making Of.
