Lonely? Depressed? Barking? Why not take home Must Love Dogs? It's the loveably snug story of a frumpy Diane Lane and her half-hearted attempts to woo men through personal ads. GSOH not necessary, but a strong stomach for syrup is. WLTM anyone (prob 35, female) who cares little for film and even less for DVD - a minute-long gagreel and some pooper-scoop deleted scenes being less the dog's bollocks, more plain balls.
"But it has John Cusack in it!" you yell. "Cool, calm, collected Cusack - of The Sure Thing and Grosse Pointe Blank..." Well, spectacularly, our John manages to phone in a performance... for the wrong film! Paycheque cashed, script skimmed, he sports a Ramones T-shirt and spouts sub-Dawson's Creek psycho-babble ("I have a theory about this...") while his slouching shipbuilder springs an unlikely relationship with Lane's fragile teacher. He upsets like a pooch pissing on your porch. Why? Because he's usually Best In Show...
DVD Extras: Additional Scenes - with Optional Commentary, Pass the Beef Gag Reel, Theatrical Trailer.
