A romantic comedy that allows for divided sympathies. As the food critic trying to ruin her best friend's nuptials and woo him herself, Julia Roberts is both charming and reprehensibly self-obsessed, while Cameron Diaz's bubbly bride-to-be is far from the usual sucker. Aussie helmer PJ Hogan serves up the wit and verve that defined his previous hit, Muriel's Wedding.

Both documentaries are standard fare, made bearable by the likeability of those involved and by a couple of revealing titbits (eg. in the original script things ended very differently).
