Underground comic The Flaming Carrot spawns a screwy superhero flick, as The Shoveler (aka William H Macy), Mr Furious (aka Ben Stiller) and other z-list cape crawlers fight the infamous Casanova Frankenstein (Geoffrey Rush).
DVD Extras:
On-location spotlight, director's commentary, deleted scenes, theatrical trailer, music highlights, notes on the production, cast, crew and origin of the comic-book, interactive DVD-ROM. A fine comic ensemble (who, the director's commentary tells us, improvised much of the script) give the comic-book clichés something of a slapabout. And while the DVD can't mask the film's problems (it's too long), the format does highlight its sheer brassiness, inventiveness and colour, helping haul it to the end credits. The extras vary from the standard on-location bit to deleted scenes which expand on the characters and plot - - but mostly deserve their home on the cutting room floor.
